AromaFabulous Goal: Improve your Mind, Body and Spirit
When you walk past a rose bush, stop for a moment and inhale its cool sweet fragrance. When you feel that sense of total well-being, you are experiencing aromatherapy. When you chop herbs in the kitchen and their pungent scents make your nose tingle and your mouth water, you're experiencing it again. All these fragrances are created naturally by plants and contained in roots, leaves, fruits, flowers and a variety of woods. For thousands of years, humankind has been drawn naturally to them and has adopted them for use in cooking, medicines, perfumes and cosmetics.
Essential oils are extracted from their plant sources and used in aromatherapy, where they are directly applied to the body through the skin, inhalation and ingestion. In doing so, they provide a variety of benefits such as improving skin tone, adding lustre to hair, preventing aging, aiding the body's immune system and even helping to alleviate pain and other symptoms.
